AirCanopy uses a state of the art wireless connection. Operating in the 5.7GHz, 2.4GHz, and 900MHz bands, our network is secure, and reliable.
Q: What are your primary IP addresses for name resolution (DNS) and Mail services?
A: Most customers use DHCP for addressing so it is all automatic.
However if needed, here is the list of server addresses for name resolution
DNS1 66.160.208.42
DNS2 66.160.208.41
DNS3 68.94.156.1
DNS4 68.94.157.1
Mail Servers:
Incoming 'mail.aircanopy.net'
Outgoing 'smtp.aircanopy.net'
Q: What kind of system do you use?
A: The system is a land based wireless broadband technology that provides for high-speed Internet access. The system was designed to provide cost-effective, "last mile" high-speed data access for residential and business customers who previously were underserved or lived in locations where infrastructure is non-existent.
Q: Is it Satellite?
A: No. Our system is land based using fixed structures like radio and water towers.
Q: How does your technology differ from other broadband services?
A: Today, broadband services use different technologies, e.g., phone lines, cable, Wi-Fi, or satellite. This system is different from all of these solutions in that it offers Secure, Affordable, Consistent, High-Speed, Internet access.
Q: How reliable is the technology?
A: Our technology is a fixed wireless system that supports ranges of up to fifteen miles. The technology provides a similar user experience to other fixed wireless devices (for example the consistency of a home stereo receiver tuned to a local radio station or TV tuned to a local station) in that once you have signal, you can get all the performance that you want.
Q: One of the biggest issues surrounding the Internet is security.. Explain, in layman’s terms, how your wireless technology addresses these problems.
A: First, unlike analog telephone transmissions, digital transmissions of Internet traffic are much more difficult to intercept because of the encryption associated with the technology. Second, like other Internet applications such as secure email or web browsing, users can employ other security applications which prevent eavesdropping on transmissions. Third, our system provides over-the air encryption, which scrambles the data bits, preventing anyone "listening" to the airwaves from deciphering any messages. In fact, the system’s over-the-air link may be the most secure leg of the typical user Internet connection.
